EPDM- Single-ply rubber membrane
What is EPDM?
EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) is a extremely durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane widely used in low-slope building throughout the United States and worldwide. This product that is mainly derived from oil and natural gas has over 30 years of proven performance. One of the first EPDM systems was installed in 1965 and is still in service to this day. EPDM has oustanding flexiblity unlike conventional ashalt roofing withno stress failure from structure movement due to the minimum 300% elongation. EPDM has shown little to no effect from sun, rain, hail, ice or snow since 1965! With fast, safe installation EPDM will continue to dominate the low-slope roofing industry with years to come.
EPDM has up to a 40 year factory warranty.
Totally Adhered EPDM is a system that bond the membrane directly to the existing roof system or to newly installed substrate. Materials used for substrate vary depending on roof conditions and length of warranty desired by the customer. Installation of isocyanurate/barrier board must be installed to obtain the 40 year factory warranty.
